Kakamega Governor Wycliffe Oparanya has led the country in wishing his Kisumu counterpart a quick recovery.
Governor Anyang Nyong’o is currently admitted at Aga Khan hosptal, Nairobi after undergoing a surgery.
A statement by his communication secretary Aloice Ager on Friday stated that Prof Nyong’o slipped Tuesday evening and fell on a pavement while walking and fractured his left arm.
“With excruciating pain, he consulted a doctor in Nyeri and an X-ray was performed, revealing the fracture of the humerus bone,” read the statement.
Mr Ager said the Governor was in Nyeri County on Tuesday evening to attend the 2nd National Universal Health Conference.
Oparanya visited him in hospital on Sunday and revealed afterwards that the governor will be discharged soon.
“Today I paid my Kisumu counterpart H.E. Anyang’ Nyong’o a visit at a Nairobi hospital where he has been receiving medical attention. We spent time together wished him quick recovery. Apparently, the high level visit came with plenty of rewards as news of Prof. Nyongo’s discharge from hospital was received soon after my departure.” Oparanya said on his Facebook Page.
