Douglas Costa Suspended for Three Months for misconduct

Brazilian and Juventus Winger Douglas Costa has been suspended from all football-related activities for 3 months for spitting in an opponent’s mouth — after he headbutted and elbowed  Federico Di Francesco from Sassuolo  Football club.

In the match which ended 2-1 with a Juventus win, where Cristiano Ronaldo got his first a second Serie A goals since moving from RealMadrid.

The Juventus coach, Massimiliano Allegri, said the winger will be fined by the club, also adding that,  “Even if he was fouled, these episodes must not happen,” Allegri said. “We mustn’t fall for provocation. The game was winding down, we had it in the bag and, instead, we stopped playing as a team, everyone wanted to dribble a bit. Then the other team gets back into the game, some players get irritated and that sort of thing happens.” Allegri added: “It’s only right that [Costa] is fined and he certainly will be. I was surprised by his reaction. We have suffered a goal, a red card and a suspension which will be long.”

The Old Lady is chasing an eighth successive Serie A title, they have 12 points, three ahead of Napoli while Sassuolo are on eight after their first defeat of the season.
