Unai Emery seems to have been impressed by Arsenal’s German midfielder Mesut Ozil during the International break.
Mesut Ozil’s international retirement has afforded him an extended opportunity to work with Emery in recent weeks and Arsenal’s new head coach is adamant that they have a good relationship.
“Mesut, I look at him with the focus totally here,” he said.
“[We get on] very well. I have a very good relationship with Mesut and professionally I push him for improvements to give us the best in his qualities and performances.”
“I knew Nacho Monreal in Spain when he was playing in Osasuna and in Malaga,” he said.
“After six years here, I came and I know him as a new Nacho Monreal. After two weeks, after two months and now, I can say that I am very happy with him because he is 32 years old but I think physically, with his performances with us in matches, he is playing with a very good level. I think we need to find a new contract with him to stay with the Arsenal team.”
The Spanish International has scored one goal for Arsenal this season.
