Uproar as Okoth Obado is Summoned instead of being Arrested like Other Suspects

The fact that Governor Okoth Obado was summoned by the police to be grilled instead of being arrested like the other suspects has not gone down well with Kenyans.

If Obado is a suspect in the murder, then he should face the law just like the other Kenyans. Does it mean that the law is only applied to the small fish and not the big fish?

Obado was on Tuesday grilled by detectives at the Nyanza Regional Police headquarters over the heinous murder of Rongo University student Sharon Otieno.

Sharon’s mutilated body was found in a thicket in Kodera forest two days after being kidnapped by Michael Oyamo, Obado’s Personal Assistant.

An autopsy report revealed that the seven month pregnant woman was gang-raped before being stabbed eight times.

So far two people have been arrested in relation to the murder. Michael Oyamo was denied bail on Monday despite being in  police custody for close to one week now. Another suspect Lawrence Mula, a former MCA in the Homa Bay County Assembly was arrested on Sunday and was denied bail on Monday.

And now Kenyans are wondering why, Obado was not subjected to the same treatment.
