ATLETICO MADRID boss Diego Simeone would rather have Neymar in his side over Kylian Mbappe. TheParis Saint-Germain stars are two of the most valuable players in world football and are battling to win football’s highest individual accolade, the Ballon d’Or.

Diego Simeone would opt for Neymar over his PSG team-mate Mbappe
Mbappe, just 19-years-old, helped spearhead France’s World Cup win with a series of remarkable performances.

But despite his sky-high potential, Simeone would opt for his fellow South American because of his overall team work. Asked by Cadena COPE which of the players he would prefer, the Argentinean manager replied:

“Neymar. In the Barcelona team of Luis Enrique, when he needed work, he worked. Mbappe is more individualistic and doesn’t have a definitive role. Neymar has a fixed position.”

Kylian Mbappe continues to show his remarkable potential

Simeone, 48, was also asked about a comparison between Atleti’s Antoine Griezmann and Mbappe.

He added: “Griezmann has a different kind of game. I read that Mbappe is more powerful and quicker than him, but Griezmann is the pilot.”

Griezmann was snubbed by Fifa chiefs in the shortlist for the Best Men’s Player with Cristiano Ronaldo, Luka Modric and Mohamed Salah in the running.

And Simeone can’t believe the forward’s achievements were overlooked.
