Okoth Obado: I did not Kill Sharon Otieno

Okoth Obado

The office of Migori County Governor Okoth Obado has rubbished claims linking him to the abduction of Nation journalist Barack Oduor and the late Sharon Otieno.

According to Migori County communications boss Nicholas Anyuor, the allegations are meant to damage the reputation of the Governor.

He further demanded that the media refrain from associating Obado with unsubstantiated claims that he allegedly impregnated and abandoned the university student.

Anyuor argues that the incident is a political witchhunt and police should be allowed to conduct their investigations with no interruptions.

According to him, the arrest of the Governor’s PA Michael Oyamo is not enough to link the county boss to the abduction saga.

The body of the 26-year-old university student was discovered on Wednesday morning in Kodera Forest, Migori County.

Kisumu County Woman Rep Rosa Buyu has called for the arrest and prosecution of the Migori Governor following the claims.

Sharon and Nation Media Journalist Barrack Oduor were kidnapped moments after being lured out of Graca Hotel in Rongo around 7.35pm on Monday by Governor Okoth Obado’s Personal Assistant Michael Oyamo.

Mr Oyamo was arrested in Uriri on Tuesday and taken to Homa Bay for questioning over the incident that left Mr Oduor seriously injured.
