In Kenya, when you hear the word slay queen, the first image to come into your mind is that of a girl probably in her late teens and early 20s who uses her body to get anything and everything she wants. Slay queens don’t do hard labor, they hop from club to club at night looking for sponsors.
But here is someone, Kenyan Slay queens can learn a lesson or two from. Her name is Sharon Mbabazi. She is gorgeous, she got the looks and a keen eye for fashion too. But she makes bricks for a living. And ooh! She is Ugandan, country where women have been reduced to making nice meals for their husbands and receive sex lessons before they even hit puberty.
As other girls look for sponsors, Sharon is busy working hard for her life. She won’t go to bars to sleep wit old men for money. She hustles for her own money. Isn’t she a role model for our girls?
