Four Liverpool Players Who Improved Their Ratings Drastically

1. Trent Alexander-Arnold – From 68 to 78

The last one year has been a massive learning curve for Trent Alexander-Arnold. The teenager received more first-team opportunities as Nathaniel Clyne was sidelined indefinitely at the start of the season.

Trent showed flashes of brilliance with his offensive display and crossing skills early on but in a few games, he was troubled by opposition wingers. His willingness to learn and improve was evident when he kept the likes of Leroy Sane and Cristiano Ronaldo at bay in the knockout stage of the UEFA Champions League.

His breakthrough season with Liverpool was also rewarded with a first international call-up to the England squad for the 2018 FIFA World Cup.

2 Andrew Robertson – From 75 to 81

Andrew Robertson’s remarkable rise in the last year is reflected in the massive change in his FIFA rating.

Robertson arrived from relegated Hull City last summer and was given a rating of only 75 when FIFA 18 came out. In fact, Alberto Moreno had a higher rating of 76.

The Scott remained on the bench for the initial part of last season due to Moreno’s brilliant form but when he was presented with a chance, he delivered and has not lost his place as Liverpool’s first choice left-back.

Robertson was given a winter rating boost of 76 last season but his excellent show in the second half of 2017/18 was enough to convince EA Sports to move his rating into the 80s.

3. Mohamed Salah- From 83 to 88

There is no surprise that Mohamed Salah’s rating has gone from 83 to 88 in the space of a year.

Salah arrived at Liverpool on the back of two impressive seasons with AS Roma but little did we know about the kind of impact he would make in his debut season with the Reds.

The Egyptian enjoyed a record-breaking season in 2017/18 during which he scored 44 goals in 52 games across all competitions. Of his 44 goals, Salah scored 32 in the league and thus broke the record for most goals in a single 38-game Premier League season.

The 26-year-old was one of three Liverpool player to receive a winter rating boost from EA Sports last season and his rating went from 83 to 85. However, he has been rightfully given an 88 rating in the new edition of the game.

4 Alisson – From 80 to 85

Alisson is the only player in this list who was not at Liverpool last season. However, his +5 rating boost is well deserved.

The Brazilian had a rating of only 80 when FIFA 18 came out and it was understandable as he spent the 2016/17 season as an understudy to Wojciech Szczęsny.

Last season, Alisson was Roma’s first choice goalkeeper and his performance between the sticks was worthy enough to name him one of the best keepers in the world.

He had the second-best save success rate in Europe’s top 5 leagues in 2017/18 behind only Jan Oblak of Atletico Madrid and the biggest difference in expected goal conceded for a Serie A goalkeeper in 2017/18.

The massive rating upgrade the Brazilian #1 has received in the latest edition of EA Sports FIFA is a testament to his brilliance and also another proof of why Liverpool spent a then world record transfer fee to recruit the 25-year-old.
