Michael Olunga marked his first appearance for Kashiwa Reysol with a bang after scoring in a memorable 5-1 win over Varen Nagasaki at Kashiwa stadium.
Varen took the lead after Suzuki shot in the 11th minute before Junya’s goal and a brace from Christiano da Silva put Kashiwa Reysol three up with Kohei adding a fourth in the second half.
In the 69th minute, Olunga came off the bench and made an impact late in the second half, smashing his shot into the net after receiving a pass from team-mate Masashi Kamekawa.
Following the extraordinary performance, Olunga took to Twitter to thank God: “God’s grace is immeasurable, His mercy is inexhaustible, His peace is inexpressible”

At the moment, Kashiwa Reysol are placed at the 11th spot on the table with 29 points from 24 games.
Olunga has also congratulated his former club Gor Mahia for retaining the KPL title on Saturday. Gor Mahia clinched their 17th title in spectacular fashion after overcoming local rivals Leopards 2-0.
