Anerlisa Mungai creates a buzz on Social Media

Entrepreneur Anerlisa Muigai’s advice to young women about making money rubbed a section of online users the wrong way.

“Ladies once you make a little bit of your money, all these men will have some sort of respect for you,” she said on Instagram recently.

An Instagram user, whose moniker is Mikez Tyme, faulted Anerlisa’s remark about being a self-built businesswoman, reminding her that “her mum [Keroche Breweries CEO Tabitha Karanja] made some money for her”.

An angry Anerlisa Muigai replied to Mikez’s comment, saying: “Where was your mum when mine was making money?”

Another user, whose social media name is Mimi Pep, said: “This caption [by Anerlisa Muigai] is so skewed and self-absorbed; an opinion without a thought. I don’t have money, but men respect me to the maximum because of my personality. Period! If people respect you only because of monetary value, you are around wolves in sheep’s clothing.”

Another online user, whose Instagram name is Perminus Kenyan, said: “Anerlisa Muigai happens to be the only lady who comes from a well-to-do family, but camps on social media to insult hustlers.”

However, not all faulted the NERO CEO. Nzioki254 said: “I agree with you, Anerlisa Muigai. Once you make money, as a woman, respect will come naturally… However, money is not the only reason a man would respect you.”
