Yvonne Okwara exposes her imposter

Citizen TV top anchor  Yvonne Okwara has exposed her social media imposter who has been soliciting money from People Using her name on social media.

In a post on her Instagram account, Ms Okwara has expressed her concerns after a guy masquerading as her started conning people on social media in the name of collecting money for a Children’s Home.

According to the news anchor, People have created Fake Facebook pages that they have been using to con people pretending that she is the one operating them.

In her post she said, “Morning folks. There is yet another imposter on Facebook, supposedly collecting money for a children’s home. Please note this is NOT my page and the person running it, asking kind people out there for money is a FRAUDSTER. You are all generous people, but do not be fooled by this crook!”

Famous people in the society have been facing a rough time on social media, due to duplication of their accounts by other people

Her exposé comes days after she shared a powerful statement, disclosing that her loyalty is never grounded on any TV station as she always focuses on professionalism no matter who she is working for.

In her statement she said, “They say, the only constant in life is change! I’m enjoying this new chapter in my career! My loyalty is not to any TV station. It is to my values and what I bring to the table. Powerful journalism that asks the tough questions, speaks truth to power. Providing a platform where the powerful and the powerless can engage! That is what I hope my legacy will be. I hope you will take this journey with me, no matter where I go!”

Okwara is among celebrated and experienced anchors who joined the Citizen TV dream Team after partying ways with KTN.

Throughout her TV career Yvonne Okwara has hosted national discussions on civic education on Kenya’s constitution and historic 2013 elections. She covered the political party primaries and general elections of 2013, the Supreme Court Election Petition and the inauguration of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

She started her career at about 10 years old when she was hosting the KBC’s children variety show.

From 2008 – present, she become a Radio Talk Show Producer of Q FM. Even as a producer she would do voice overs for Money Matters, a business show on NTV.

Nation Media opened up QTV and she again signed on as a producer but in November 2012 she moved to KTN.

She does voice over work for TV shows like Samantha Bridal TV show that airs on NTV.
