The Spanish Football Professional League (Laliga) officially announced that starting this season, the La Liga champion of each season will stamp the new La Liga champion badge on the right arm of the shirt.
Through the official website Laliga announced that starting this season will be stamped on the La Liga jerseys last season, the new champion armband, Barcelona will be the first team to enjoy this honor.
Barcelona official said: “The logo is to show the outstanding strength of the championship and the level of competition in La Liga, and Barcelona will be honored to be the first team to wear such honor.”
While securing their 25th La Liga title and 30th Copa del Rey were huge positives from a 2017-2018 campaign that saw them go 36 games unbeaten in the league, there was still a sense of lingering disappointment about Ernesto Valverde’s first term at the helm.
Indeed, this stemmed from their shattering UEFA Champions League loss against AS Roma in the quarter-finals, where they remarkably blew a 4-1 first leg lead to bow out in a forgettable away leg in the Italian capital.
