Spanish star David Silva has announced that he has officially retires from Spanish national team.
Since the first show w in November 2006, Silva played 125 games for the Matador Legion in 12 years and scored 35 goals to help Spain win the 2010 World Cup and the 2008 and 2012 European Championships.
Earlier, Iniesta and Pique made the decision to retire from the national team. In the statement, Silva said: “After going through so much, writing such a letter is not an easy task. I have been constantly reflecting and analyzing. There is no doubt that this is the toughest decision of my career.”
“The national team gave me everything, let me grow from a youth team to a real player and a man. In 12 years, I played 125 games on behalf of Spain, scored 25 goals, won 1 World Cup and 2 European Cups. Champion, I left with glory.”
