Kenyans have disagreed with the court’s decision to slap Makueni man from hell, Daudi Nzomo with a 12 year Jail sentence.
Nzomo was filmed battering his wife on July 30 at Kyaaka village. He was later arrested and charged with causing grievous harm to his wife, Winfred Mwende, charges to which he pleaded guilty. The suspect was arrested in Nguuni, Kibwezi West Constituency on Thursday while on the run after the said video went viral on the interwebs.
Makueni Magistrate James Mwaniki ruled that Nzomo will serve 10 years in prison and the remaining two under probation.
The court was told that this was not his first offense and that previous incidents were settled by the area chief.
“The victim revealed that Nzomo assaulted her back in 2013 when she objected to him marrying a second wife,” the Prosecutor Jennifer Ndeda said.
Ndeda further revealed that Nzomo has been reportedly assaulting both of his wives since then.
According to an uncle, Daudi Nzomo also chased his family from their home in 2016 threatening to beat them up.
But Kenyans online feel the punishment was too severe and that Nzomo’s case was expedited because he is a poor a man.
Isaac Kipruto wondered the supersonic speed at which Nzomo was tried, yet no one has been send to jail in relation to the NYS, NCPB and Kenya Pipeline Corruption Scandals.
Daudi Nzomo has been jailed for 12 years for beating wife. Whew! For the POOR justice moves at supersonic speed! Sugar, KPLC, NYS, Ruaraka issues still moving in circles! #SwiftJusticeForNzomo

Kenyan Judiciary is pathetic, How can you jail Daudi Nzomo 12 yrs while the looters of NYS and KPLC are walking free#Corruption is real in Kenya# I think its the high time for CS for education to add corruption in Kenyan syllabus

Why is it that for the poor justice is done too quickly? Daudi Nzomo has already been sentenced to 12 years in prison while the NYS, Sugar scandal, Maize scandal, KPLC, have not been dealt with? Southend Mall demolished but not Taj Mall?

JKUAT Lady stabbed a MAN 21 times to dead. Court handed her death penalty. Feminists, Fida and human were all around yelling. Boy child Daudi Nzomo was filmed beating a woman (didn’t kill her) now handed a jail term of12 years. No one is talking about it.

Only if our courts could have handled all the mega corruption cases in Kenya swiftly with an electronic speed like they’ve handled this “Daudi Nzomo” assault case, Kenya would be among the top 3 corruption-free countries in the world. Justice for the poor is very easy.?

I expect Amnesty International to issue a statement on the 12 years jail term for Daudi Nzomo. Their ugly senseless defence of Ruth Kamande still fresh.
