John Terry, Yaya Toure, Samir Nasri among the best free agent XI as the transfer window closes soon

The  transfer window is raging on, with mega-money moves being confirmed left, right and centre.

But despite having just two weeks to go until the window slams shut, there are a host of big name, free agents still up for grabs. From Premier League-winning stars to some of Europe’s hottest names, some freebies are yet to be snapped up for absolutely nothing.

John Terry, Patrice Evra, Yaya Toure and Samir Nasri are just four such players waiting patiently for a club to step forward. Ahead of the August 9 deadline, we’ve taken a look at the best free agent XI – and those who just missed the cut – below…

GOALKEEPER – Boaz Myhill

MOST recently at relegated Premier League boys West Brom, Myhill is now without a club.

The 19-cap Wales international has also turned out for Aston Villa and Hull during his career.

Notable others: Oscar Ustari, Diego Cavalieri, Ross Turnbull

RIGHT-BACK – Glen Johnson
Glen Johnson is another relegated veteran looking for a new team
Johnson was released by Championship new boys Stoke this summer and is now hunting for a new team.

The 54-cap England star played at Liverpool, Portsmouth, Chelsea and West Ham prior to his days at the bet365 Stadium and would bring experience to an in-need squad.

Notable others: Bacary Sagna, Jeremy Pied, Jesus Gamez

CENTRE-BACK – John Terry

John Terry captained Aston Villa last season, but is now without a club
what more can you say that hasn’t already been said? Still known by the Chelsea faithful as “captain, leader, legend”, JT left Aston Villa this summer.

The England legend racked up 78 caps for his country… and with 759 first-team appearances under his belt will surely not be without a club for long.

Notable others: Robert Huth, Nedum Onuoha, Gareth McAuley

CENTRE-BACK – James Collins
James Collins was brutally let go by West Ham during the summer
Collins will be hurting this summer… after he was horrendously dumped by West Ham over email.

The Welsh veteran gave everything to the Hammers and was shunned in disgraceful manner, but he’ll be keen to prove they were wrong at pastures new.

Notable others: Philipp Wollscheid, Christopher Samba, Florentin Pogba

LEFT-BACK – Patrice Evra
Patrice Evra is another West Ham player to be let go this summer
ALMOST as famous now for his social media antics as his football, Evra failed to set the world alight at West Ham.

But aged 37, the 81-cap France international and five-time Premier League champion is still determined to keep plugging away… if anyone will give him a shot.

Notable others: Benoit Assou-Ekotto, Benoit Tremoulinas, Emilio Izaguirre.

CENTRAL MIDFIELD – Yaya Toure
Yaya Toure has finally left Man City after three Premier League crowns
three-time Premier League champion Toure was finally let go by Pep Guardiola this summer.

With stints at Manchester City, Barcelona and Monaco under his belt, it won’t be long until someone takes a chance on the former superstar.

Notable others: James Morrison, Anderson

CENTRAL MIDFIELD – Alex Song
Alex Song is still only 30-years-old and hunting for a new team
SONG was most recently on the books of Russian outfit Rubin Kazan, but now the ex-Arsenal star is after a club.

The former Barcelona and West Ham midfielder – boasting one La Liga title on his CV – will still be keen to prove he has what it takes, still aged only 30.

Notable others: Darron Gibson, Steve Sidwell

CENTRAL MIDFIELD – Max Meyer
Max Meyer is, bizarrely, still without a club going into 2018-19
ONE of the hottest prospects in Europe, it’s bonkers Schalke let him go… and even more so no one has taken him on.

Arsenal and Liverpool are just two clubs circling the four-cap Germany international’s signature this summer. Notable others: Alberto Aquilani, Diego Poyet

FORWARD – Hatem Ben Arfa
Hatem Ben Arfa was let go by Paris Saint-Germain at the end of 2017-18
AFTER sub-par spells at Newcastle and Hull, Ben Arfa shone at Nice… so brightly in fact he snared a move to Ligue 1 giants PSG.

However, after failing to regularly break into the first XI, he is now a free agent and an intriguing prospect for a host of clubs.

Notable others: Bernard, Keisuke Honda, Alessio Cerci

FORWARD – Giuseppe Rossi
Giuseppe Rossi is sithout a team after leaving Genoa last season
ANOTHER to flop in the Premier League, with Man United, and thrive elsewhere, Rossi was a star at Villarreal.

He then moved to Fiorentina before spending last season at Genoa and now a free agent, he’ll be keen to prove he’s still got goals in him, aged 31.

Notable others: Abel Hernandez, Lacina Traore, Darren Bent

FORWARD – Samir Nasri
Samir Nasri is hunting a new team after failing to fire in Turkey last year
A TWO-TIME Premier League champion who has played for Arsenal, Man City and Sevilla, Nasri was at Antalyaspor last season.

Just eight appearances in the Super Lig last season saw him leave this summer… is he worth a punt for a Prem side for 2018-19?

Notable others: Bakary Sako, Rafael Kurzawa, Gabby Agbonlahor
