Latest transfer updates on Arsenal, Chelsea Man United

Manuel Pellegrini has spoken with Javier Hernandez and intends to keep him at West Ham.

The Mexico international is poised to return to training tomorrow, having been given an extended summer break.

Asked whether he had spoken with Chicharito about his future, Pellegrini told Starsport: “I spoke with Javier before he played at the World Cup.

“When I signed here, I told him that he would be a very important player here with me.”

Green

Veteran goalkeeper Rob Green is set to undergo a medical at Chelsea later today.

The former England international is set to act as backup to Thibaut Courtois for the Blues under Maurizio Sarri.

If Courtois opts to leave for Real Madrid, Chelsea are expected to buy a big-name replacement for the Belgian.

Green is expected to sign a one-year deal at Stamford Bridge.

Savic

Manchester United target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has turned his attention to joining Chelsea from Lazio.

The Serbia midfielder seemed set to conclude a deal with United before the World Cup.

But complications with his Lazio contract and asking price ultimately put the Red Devils off as they eventually signed Fred.

United and Real Madrid are continuing to track Milinkovic-Savic, though Chelsea are now the 23-year-old’s preferred choice, according to The Independent.

The Blues, who recently signed Jorginho from Napoli, are expected to bid if any rival clubs make a move.

Hazard

Chelsea could lose star man Eden Hazard this summer with Real Madrid looking to the winger to replace Cristiano Ronaldo.

Los Blancos have put the Belgian at the top of their wish list after Ronaldo left for Juventus in a £99m move.

Spanish outlet Don Balon, known for their bold and outlandish transfer claims, say Hazard has set Real Madrid a deadline to get a move done.

The 27-year-old is said to be worried a switch might not materialise with Chelsea demanding £200m to sell him.

And Hazard has reportedly told Real Madrid they must get a deal done by the August 9 transfer deadline or he could stay at the Blues in the long-term

Martial

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial could move to Tottenham in a swap deal for Toby Alderweireld, according to Sky Sports reporter Michael Bridge.

“Anthony Martial’s future could be the big talking point of the transfer window,” he told the Transfer Talk podcast.

“Chelsea have entered the fray and I have said plenty of times that Spurs have a longstanding interest in Martial and I still stand by that.

“There may even be a deadline day swap between him and Toby Alderweireld, who knows. There will still be plenty to go in the last few weeks.

“Chelsea, we know they are interested but they are yet to make a formal offer. Sky in Germany are saying Bayern Munich will only make a move if United lower their valuation of the player – you’d say unlikely.

United boss on signings

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho has revealed how many signings he wants to make before the transfer window shuts.

“One thing is what I would like,” he told ESPN FC.

“Another thing is what is going to happen.”

Asked directly how many new signings he would like the Special One was quick to say his side needed two new faces to arrive.

He explained: “I would get two more players.”

Lloris

Real Madrid are reportedly preparing a bid for Tottenham star Hugo Lloris, meaning Thibaut Courtois looks set to stay at Chelsea.

According to The Sun, the Spurs is now being primed for a £60m bid from Los Blancos.

The European champions are keen on strengthening in the goalkeeper department this summer, with a number of targets identified.

Courtois had been top of the list after a number of hints made by the Belgian.

The 26-year-old’s children still live in the Spanish capital from his time at Atletico Madrid, where he spent three years.

Welbeck

Arsenal hero Ray Parlour believes Danny Welbeck could be plotting to leave Arsenal this summer.

“It’s possible Danny Welbeck might look to leave Arsenal this summer,” he said.

“There’s a lot of competition for places and he’s at that age where he really needs to be playing every week.

“He’s an important asset for Arsenal coming off the bench due to his versatility.

“But he doesn’t have the finishing skills needed to be above the likes of [Pierre-Emerick] Aubameyang, [Alexandre] Lacazette, [Mesut] Ozil or [Henrikh] Mkhitaryan in the pecking orde
