Gor Mahia welcomes Ochieng back on the pitch as Posta comes calling

After months of absence, Wellington Ochieng has been named in the starting line up for Gor Mahia to face Posta Rangers.

Dylan Kerr has made wholesome changes to his team that faced AFC Leopards in the Mashemeji derby with Ochieng together with Wesley Onguso, Charles Momanyi and Joachim Oluoch lining up along the defensive line. Cercidy Okeyo, Lawrence Juma, Bernard Ondiek will be the day’s midfielder. Raphael Asudi will be the man up front while Samwel Onyango and Kevin Omondi maraud the flanks.

Gor Mahia defender Karim Nizigiyimana officially returned to the team after staying out for nine months due to injury.

The Burundian right back who won the Defender of Year accolade in the year 2015, joined the team on Monday during a training session at Camp Toyoyo, Nairobi.

Gor Mahia CEO Lordvick Aduda confirmed his return and added that he will be available the remaining season’s assignments.

“Karim was cleared by the doctors and is back to the team and training well with the rest of the players. We have done what is required and he will available for selection for matches should the coach feel he is ready to be handed play time,” Aduda told the club’s website.

Karim had an ankle injury last year in October during a league match against Mathare United at Thika Municipal stadium and had to undergo a surgery surgery.

Though back to the training, Karim will not be part of the traveling party to Tanzania where Gor Mahia will be facing Young Africans of Tanzania in Caf Confederation Cup match on Sunday.

 

Their opponents  Posta Rangers have named a strong line-up to face Gor Mahia in the Football Kenya Federation Shield Cup at MISC, Kasarani.

Pamzo has kept faith in his regular starters in the Kenya Premier League assignments as he looks forward to making a revenge when his team fell to Gor at Moi Stadium Kisumu. They were beaten 5-0.
