Leicester City winger Riyad Mahrez is set to have medical with Manchester City this week. According to reports, Leicester has accepted a bid from the Premier League champions and the Algerian is set for a medical in the coming days. The Citizens are thought to be paying £60 m for the 27-year-old. Manchester City made several bids for Mahrez and he was close to joining the Etihad side but the deal failed to materialize despite the player handing in an official transfer request for the second time.
A number of Leicester players reported back for pre-season training on Monday but Mahrez and Algerian team-mate Islam Slimani are not due back until next week having played in an international friendly on June 7. Mahrez netted 13 goals in 41 appearances for the Foxes last season. Leicester have accepted City’s bid of £60m and Mahrez will undergo his medical this week.
