Former England captain takes aim at ”Pathetic” Neymar

Brazil came through a difficult last-16 match with Mexico but not without controversy, former England striker Alan Shearer speaking up for those irritated by Neymar’s actions. Alan Shearer, CBE, DL is an English retired footballer. He played as a striker in the top level of English league football for Southampton, Blackburn Rovers, Newcastle United and the England national team.

When trodden on by an opposition player, the Paris Saint-Germain attacker leapt about theatrically in a moment that compounded his negative reputation in many people’s eyes. “It’s absolutely pathetic,” “There’s no doubting the ability of him, but it really is pathetic when he’s rolling around in agony, why does he feel the need to do that? It’s been a terrific World Cup, but the one downside is players feigning injury and the diving, it’s a big issue.”
