Arsene Wenger picks his World Cup favorites

The former Arsenal manager has been doing some punditry work around the World Cup after he left north London in May. Arsene Wenger was asked to name the team he is backing for World Cup glory – and he named three.

“My heart favourite is of course France” said Wenger on beIN Sports on Monday. I said many times that no country under 40 million people has won the World Cup since 1954. Belgium have the quality and Croatia have the quality.

He thinks one of France, Brazil or England will lift the World Cup in less than two weeks time.

Tite’s Brazil eased to a 2-0 win over Mexico on Monday and are still the favourites to win the World Cup with the bookies.

But they’ll have to beat a star-studded Belgian side in the quarter-final following their astonishing comeback win over Japan.
