Amazing! Belgium beat Japan with 9.94-second counter-attack

Belgium took just 9.94 seconds to go from one end of the pitch to the other as they scored a last-minute winner to beat Japan 3-2 in Rostov.
Japan floated in a corner and it was confidently caught by Belgian goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois as 31 seconds remained in stoppage time.
The Chelsea stopper thought quickly, rolling the ball to midfield lynchpin Kevin De Bruyne who galloped with real purpose through the middle of the park. The Manchester City man took four Japanese players out of the game with his energy and acceleration before he picked out right wing-back Thomas Meunier who found himself in acres of space.

Romelu Lukaku had drifted out towards Meunier before darting back central, opening up a huge space for the defender to burst into with Japan’s concentration compromised. Lukaku’s importance to the move for the winning goal was not limited solely to his movement for Meunier, however, as the Manchester United forward had the awareness to dummy the ball across the box for a team-mate behind him. Substitute Nacer Chadli was racing towards the back post and Lukaku’s dummy fooled the Japanese defenders as Chadli had the simple task of finishing off a blistering move.
