WORLD CUP: Why We Love Trent-Alexander Arnold

2017-18 was the breakthrough campaign for the Liverpool youngster, who was given a first-team berth at Anfield by Jurgen Klopp and quickly became a regular at right-back for his hometown club.

After working his way through the international ranks with the Young Lions, featuring at the U17 World Cup in Chile in 2015 and also helping the U19s to qualify for the Euro Finals of 2017, Alexander-Arnold became a key man for the U21s before making the senior step.

His first call-up from Gareth Southgate came for the 2018 World Cup, after a stunning end to his domestic campaign with Liverpool by reaching the Champions League Final.
