World Cup bound Iran wrapped up their World Cup warm-up with a win over Lithuania in the dying minutes of the game at Moscow. Karim Ansarifard scored the only goal of the game in the 88 minute to see the hosts head to the World Cup with their heads high.

The 28-year old Olympiakos forward started on the bench, coming on in the second half to rescue his team. Lithuania, ranked 126 by FIFA, piled pressure on Iran, who are ranked 37, but failed to convert their chances.

Iran are in a tough group, battling out with Portugal, Spain, and Morocco for the two slots to advance to the next stage.
