Lyon responds to signing Nabil Fedkir

Midfielder Nabil Fedkir has recently been attacking Lyon. This has been going on since the start of 2018 summer transfer window.

In a recent interview RMC Sport, Lyon manager Bruno Génésio  dismissed the talk that Fekir had agreed to sign for Liverpool, apparently there has been no talks held between Fekir and Liverpool, or indeed any other club.

In his interview, Génésio stated that,

“There was no contact at all with Liverpool or any other club,

“I have not discussed the future at all, I know that Nabil, because of the qualification of ‘OL for the Champions League, is very keen to stay in.

“We will discuss serenely, he has the right to go to Russia with the French team, it gives him a higher status.

“It will be very, very expensive, to be able to acquire Nabil Fékir this summer.

“The players who have participated in this season will stay in. We want to increase the quality of the team so we must not weaken it.We will recruit one or two additional players of high quality and at least a very big name to strengthen the team”.

Given his performance Fekir deserves a the high pay conbsidering in 30 Ligue 1 games, last season Fekir bagged an impressive 18 goals and six assists. Bering in mind that Fekir spent much of the 2017/18 season as an attacking midfielder, 18 goals in 30 games is ridiculous.

Fekir could certainly be that man given he can play CAM, left wing, right wing and even centre-forward. So, while Liverpool may have to splash the cash to sign Fekir, he does look like he could be worth it.
