Arsenal set to sign Joel Lopez from Barcelona

Arsenal have been rumoured to be on the the verge of signing another full back from Barcelona’s La Masia academy.

This is not the first time Arsenal is signing in from Barcelona.During Arsene Wenger’s time at Arsenal, the Gunners made a habit of prising young talent from Barcelona’s La Masia conveyor belt.

with the likes of Cesc Fabregas came from Barcelona and became Arsenal captain before returning to the Camp Nou.

Whilst Hector Bellerin has been a fixture in the Arsenal side having gone down the same route.

Joel Lopez, a left back, who plays for Barcelona Under-16s is close to an agreement with Arsenal.

The Gunners will have to pay training fees for Lopez.

Arsenal have been amongst a host of European sides linked with Barcelona winger Ousmane Dembele.

Somewhat ironically, Arsenal’s current left back is Nacho Monreal, another Spaniard, who was called up to the Spain World Cup squad on Monday.

Lopez will be playing for another famed youth system in Arsenal’s. This season the Gunners were beaten by Chelsea in the FA Youth Cup final.

Arsenal fans will be more concerned with Unai Emery and how they progress in the short term, but it looks like the club are not forgetting about the future.
