Olunga back to drawing board

Michael Olunga has ended his loan spell with a win after his Spanish club Girona FC beat La Palmas 2-1 in their final 2017/2018 match on Saturday 19th May at Estadio de Gran Canaria.

Cristian Stauni scored a brace and a point for Girona with Las Palmas reducing the deficit through Jonathan Calleli. By Saturday La Liga Standings, Girona were placed 9th in the log but the positions could change if the Real Sociedad or Eibar pick wins on Sunday.

26-year-old Kenyan international Micheal Olunga came on as a substitute in the 84th minute replacing lethal forward Cristhian Stuani in what could be his last match for the Catalan club.

Olunga has been in Spain since 1st September 2017 and is expected back at his Chinese Super League side Guizhou Hengfeng Zhicheng FC not unless Girona renegotiates the deal.

In his La Liga sojourn, Olunga clocked 426 minutes from fourteen appearances, four starts and ten as a substitute. He scored three goals.
