Joho, Kingi fight over 2022 top job

President Uhuru Kenyatta and opposition leader Raila Odinga handshake has lead to political indifferences between two coastal political kingpins.

Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho and his Kilifi counterpart Amason Kingi, who have disagreed on the handshake between  President Kenyatta and Mr Odinga. Apparently, Governor Joho has embraced the political deal where he has offered to work together with President Kenyatta and the Jubilee leadership, while Governor Kingi has admitted  he is yet to understand its purpose.

Both governors who are serving their second terms under , have expressed interest in the 2022 top job, e Joho has confirmed to vie via ODM ticket, while Kingi is rooting for the formation of a coast party.

The duo, who have not been seen together before have been reported to have political mishap as some of their allies are supporting different people for the top job.

Before the handshake the coast leaders spoke in one political voice, but that seem to have ended.
