Sanchez lists Wanyama as a key mentor

Tottenham Hotspur defender Davinson Sanchez has singled out the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Toby Alderweireld, Juan Foyth, Victor Wanyama and Eric Dier as players that have helped him make a positive impact in the Premier League.

Sanchez a Columbian defender joined the Spurs in August 2017 and his impressive display has seen the club extend his stay to 2024.  The center back signed an improved contract on 15 May and he revealed that he has learned a lot from fellow teammates at Spurs.

Quality teammates

“I’ve enjoyed it so much this season because I have quality team-mates, I have quality staff guiding me and I have a quality training ground to work at,” he told Spurs official portal.

“I’ve learned so much from everyone, not just from the other centre-backs like Jan (Vertonghen), like Toby (Alderweireld), Juan (Foyth), and also Victor (Wanyama) and Eric Dier when they play in this position but I pick up things from every player and of course from the gaffer” he added.

The 21-year-old made 31 appearances in the concluded season.
