England boss Gareth Southgate admits he was displeased by the FA tweet which mocked striker Harry Kane but says everyone has now moved on.
The 24-year-old forward is one of England’s key performers but, ahead of this summer’s World Cup in Russia, he was the butt of a joke on the FA Twitter account – which has since been deleted.
After Kane supposedly had a quiet game for Tottenham in their 2-1 FA Cup semi-final loss to Manchester United, the FA posted a tweet joking he had been in United defender Chris Smalling’s pocket

“We had a good internal discussion, we had an apology pretty quickly to Harry and to Tottenham, so it’s done.
“We didn’t spend long on it at all. He’d moved on from it and that was that.”
