Kenyan champions Gor Mahia will play USM Algiers on Wednesday 16th May in the first Caf Confederations Cup group stage match at Moi Kasarani Stadium.
The community club which enjoys a large following will however be without the 12th man, this according to a confirmation from the ministry of sports and the Secretary General Lordvick Aduda.
Sports Kenya, who manage the stadium had earlier indicated that the facility would not be available for the match after the weekend Gor-Hull City friendly that saw some of the seats vandalized.
The decision was however receded after an outcry following which the new developments emerged. It is however yet to be seen what will happen as this would amount to government interference in the game, an issue that CAF doesn’t take lying down.
