Governors rated! Sonko on the ‘D’

Nairobi County Government has scored a D+ in the latest counties’ ranking released by research firm Trends & Insights For Africa (TIFA) on Tuesday 15th May morning.

In the rankings, key counties; Mombasa and Kisumu scored a C and C+ respectively with the spotlight being on governors to continue providing key services as they promised during campaigns.

Among the areas of focus for the research firm included sanitation, access to basics, infrastructure and how they are keeping up with the National Government’s Big Four Agenda in general.

The lowly ranking by the Nairobi County has also aggravated the debate on Governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko’s performance since taking over office, especially after the rains exposed the City’s unpreparedness for upsets.

Big Four Agenda;

Raising the share of manufacturing sector from 9% to 15 % of the GDP by 2022, expand food production and supply, provide universal health coverage for all Kenyan homes and build 500,000 affordable houses.
