She narrated; “When King’s phone rings at night, my heart leaps.I can predict who’s calling n what the call is abt. I’ve watched King go from the King he is, a master, a superstar to him crumbling and becoming King Of Sorrow.Broken.There’s 1 time,he felt defeated He just thrusted his phone 2the couch, inhaled deeply, buried his face in his hands, his only question.

Why God?? Why mum?Ingekuwa tu mimi. You See,King’s mum has been ailing for a while now. If you have been a Huge fan of ‘Rabbit’,he did another song ‘Kafiri ‘ in 2014 still about her. She is a strong lady,A dedicated mom, and a true warrior of God. He has taken her to see countless specialists in the hopes that she can be healed. The docs appointments coupled with the medical expenses she’s been taking have been astronomical.

He has always put his entire trust in God, praying n believing. There are times he gets too weak to pray, because he has been knocking on God’s door 4years without an answer. When he is too drained, he asks me to pray because he’s just too weary to go to the Lord’s presence. Refusing to give up, he calls his spiritual mum so that they can pray together on the phone.
King is a very calm, collected guy.

And his experiences and struggles have made him tough n grounded. He has always had hope that she’ll get better, that a cure shall be found, that she’ll finally be her old vivacious self. Days turned to months, months to years. The symptoms change, the attacks are unpredictable, and the pain becomes excruciating.

This song Njia, is a depiction of the journey he’s been thro’ in the quest of finding a cure for his mom. It is a cry to God, the giver of life, that He may heed his cry and restore her health. Mum is such a warm, beautiful, loving human being. She always manages to put on a smile puts on a smile even at her weakest moments.

We will not give up, and you should not either. I know that many of us are going through silent battles, and are hanging on to dear life by a thread. This song is also to let you know that you are not alone, and that we share a unique language, the language of pain. And that when you call on God, He will deliver you, for nothing is impossible with him.”
