In a rather unexpected turn of events, a security guard who claimed that Supreme Court judge Mohammed Ibrahim threatened to shoot him has withdrawn the case.

Mr Nyoro, a Rans Security guard, and the director of the company recorded the complaint at Spring Valley Police Station on March 21, alleging that the judge lost his temper during a disagreement and brandished a gun before chasing him away.

The case was filed under OB number 03/21/3/2019 by Mr Ronald Ayiera, the owner and director of Rans Security Services, and Mr Charles Onguso, a guard at the company.

“I wish to indicate that I have withdrawn the above matter which was reported in Spring Valley Police Station and later forwarded to the DCIO Gigil division (Westlands Constituency),” Ayira said in a statement.

His supervisor, only identified as Ayiela from Pan Security Guards, confirmed that the duo have reconciled and the issue is settled.

In a statement signed by Ibrahim’s lawyer Wambua Kilonzo, the judge says he does not wish to pursue the matter that would have put a dent on his long career in the Judiciary.

According to lawyer Kilonzo, it is the guard who approached the judge through his lawyer, saying “he had voluntarily made the decision to withdraw the complaint against the judge.”

It came to the fore that on March 29, Mr Nyoro approached the judge through his advocate Evans Ondieki and expressed his wish to withdraw the complaint voluntarily.

Justice Ibrahim accompanied Mr Nyoro to Gigiri Police Station where he withdrew the complaint.

The judge welcomed the move and Mr Kilonzo said the matter had therefore been fully settled. He said his client did not wish to pursue it further.

On March 22, detectives questioned Justice Ibrahim over the allegations that he threatened the guard at Spring Valley.
