Sonko pours money on Buruburu A girls

Nairobi Governor Mike Sonko has honored his promise to reward Buru Buru Girls 2018 KCPE candidates who excelled in the exams.

In the 2018 KCSE, Buru Buru Girls recorded an impressive performance with top candidates scoring mean grades of 3 A plain, 24 A minus and 10 B plus.

315 students score a mean grade of A in the 2018 year’s Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education examinations.

The then Education Cabinet Secretary Amina Mohammed said it was an improvement from 2017 when 142 A’s were registered.

Amina as well said that girls performed better in six subjects that include English, Kiswahili, CRE, Home Science, Art and Design as well as Metal Work.

“In 2018, fourteen subjects recorded a significant improvement in performance compared to thirteen last year, male candidates performed better than female candidates in 20 other subjects,” she said.

About 660, 000 students sat for the examination in 2018.
