Manchester United received Solskjaer’s appointment as permanent manager with joy. But few hours later, another pinch seems to be cropping in the club concerning Ander Herreira’s transfer report.
Herrera is “seriously considering” signing a three-year deal with Paris Saint-Germain.
Sources report that Herrera is finding it difficult to turn down such a lucrative offer from the Ligue 1 club. Earlier this week, one publication exclusively revealed Manchester United were convinced the 29-year-old would be staying at the club for the foreseeable future.
After being reintegrated into the club’s starting line-up over recent months under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, it appeared the midfielder was content at Old Trafford.
However, PSG’s latest offer appears to have thrown a spanner in the works, with Herrera now weighing up his options as he enters the final stages of his career. The French side are looking to replace wantaway midfielder Adrien Rabiot and they view Herrera as the perfect replacement.
The Spaniard has put in a string of consistent performances since joining from Athletic Bilbao back in 2014, earning the attention from the Paris club. His contract expires at the end of the season with the Red Devils, and then he will be available to join an alternative club, such as PSG, for free.
But first, Herrera has the task of securing victory over Watford on the Premier League on March 29.
