‘Wash your mouth with OMO old man!’ Sonko slams MP Maina Kamanda

MP Maina Kamanda blasts Mike Sonko for showing off while helping famine victims in Turkana

Nairobi governor Sonko had less than nice things to say when nominated Jubilee MP Maina Kamanda directed his anger at him.

Kamanda argued the governor took advantage of the drought situation in Turkana to seek recognition through posing for photos with hunger stricken Kenyans after delivering foodstuff and other personal effects to the arid county.

In his Facebook post on Wednesday, March 27, Kamanda insinuated Sonko had defeated the Good Book’s teaching that Christians should help the needy secretly, to an extent the left hand would be unable to know what the right hand had given out in aid.

He questioned the genuine philanthropic aspect in Sonko’s giving in the full glare of his communication team’s cameras.

MP Maina Kamanda blasts Mike Sonko for showing off while helping famine victims in Turkana

“Dear governor, after going to Turkana with your complete photograph team, please wake up and serve Nairobians,” said Kamanda.

The legislator accused Sonko who has a penchant for publicity of abdicating his roles as Nairobi governor in the name of going out to supported hunger ravaged Turkana residents.

“Streets are still dirty, hawkers are being harassed, drainage system is pathetic and workers are being fired left and right like garbage. Nairobians also need service,” Kamanda stated. In a swift scathing rejoinder, Sonko blasted the nominated MP, describing him as a mean sadist.

He reiterated he had gone to help Kenyans in dire need of aid and not to popularise himself. The county boss went ahead to defend his service delivery record, highlighting projects his administration was overseeing.

“What is wrong with this old man Maina Kamanda whom I respect a lot. Is it bad to help other Kenyans when they’re in need? I went to Turkana and West Pokot for three days knowing Nairobians need services. I didn’t go for Public Relations as you allege,” said the governor.

According to Sonko, his status as Good Deeds ambassador could not allow him to sit aside and watch Kenyans dying because of lack of food.

“I was recently crowned Kenya’s Good Deeds ambassador by an Israeli organisation. This explains why I went to Turkana. It’s not my first time to stand with the needy. I will not stop because of your dirty mouth and menopause politics overtaken by events,” added Sonko.
