Faceless Jubilee MPs who threatened Munya over Sh4bn loot

Reports have emerged on the probable corrupt Jubilee leaders who kept prodding Industrialization Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya to sign Sh4 billion into their pockets.

During a grilling session by the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the firebrand former Meru governor handed in a list of the Jubilee leaders.

The CS indicated that he resisted intense pressure and threats from the insatiable legislators drooling for the high payout that would have set back tax-payers Sh 4 billion back to raise the dams expenditure to Sh25 billion.

As the pressure mounted, the CS resorted to informing Treasury CS Henry Rotich that the dam tenders were not following proper channels and procedures.

A local publication reported that Munya further advised against release of more cash as the job on the ground did not measure with the money already released.

Under intense pressure

“We have heard all manner of claims including how Munya was put under pressure by some top government officials to sign documents and when he refused he was transferred,” a local publication quoted an investigator.

Since the revelations emerged, talk is rife that Munya, the whistle blower of the Ksh21 Billion scandal whose tender was awarded to a now insolvent Italian firm, CMC Di Ravena, will be considered as a witness in the probe.

Munya served for six months as the CS for the East Africa Community and Regional Development which was in charge of the construction of the Arror and Kimwarer dams in Elgeyo-Marawet county.

Munya’s yesterday grill brings a total of all cabinet secretaries who appeared before the DCI in relation to the scandal to five.
