VIDEO: Itumbi finally spills the beans on Uhuru’s social media accounts suspension

The Statehouse Secretary for Digital and Diaspora Communications Dennis Itumbi has cleared the airwaves following the suspension of President Uhuruy Kenyatta’s Twitter and Facebook accounts.

Speaking during a debate show dubbed Press Pass aired on NTV with Mark Maasai on Monday night, Itumbi reiterated that no presidential accounts were deleted nor suspended.

Itumbi maintained that the suspended social media accounts were personal accounts for President Kenyatta.

He said no institutional nor Presidential accounts were deleted nor suspended, citing an example of Mark Maasai’s accounts, noting that when they get deleted, it is not Nation Media’s accounts that would have been deleted.

Itumbi cited that the Statehouse and Presidential Social media accounts were still operational and that the information was still channeled to Kenyans through them.

President Kenyatta’s facebook and Twitter accounts were suspended last week after he made a post on Corruption.

In the post, the head of state had indicated that no one would be spared in the fight against graft, including his own political allies.

The suspension brought about speculations, with some Kenyans suspecting Itumbi to have been behind the hacking of the President’s accounts.

Here is the video.
