President Uhuru’s visit to DP Ruto’s office raises eyebrows

This afternoon president Uhuru Kenyatta’s motorcade was seen at Deputy President William Ruto’s Harambee Annex office in Nairobi with many asking why the head of state made that visit.

According to the sources, President joined his deputy for lunch with the nature of their discussion unclear.

The President is scheduled to leave for Mombasa after the meeting with his deputy. There are still scanty details on whether the two have discussed matters related to Jubilee or official government business.

It is a very rare occurrence for Uhuru to visit Ruto at either his Harambe Annex or official residence in Karen.

The visit comes at a time when Jubilee MPs have demanded that Uhuru meets them to discuss the growing rifts within the ruling party.

This, they have said, should happen before the State of the Nation Address expected on April 4.

It is not clear what they will be discussing but there have been calls from the opposition to impeach Ruto.

Siaya Senator James Orengo proposed the impeachment of Deputy President.

Orengo vowed on Sunday to institute an impeachment motion against Ruto.

The Senate Minority Leader said a Deputy President can be kicked out of office if it’s found that he or she has violated the Constitution or any other law.
