Kenyans woke up to the rude shock that the National Air Courier, Kenya Airways, will not carry out plans to cancel orders for the Boeing 737-800 Max.

This comes even after international public pressure has caused dozens of airlines to cancel orders of the said craft after 2 fatal accidents in less than 5 months.

Are Kenyans lives at stake?

According to Michael Joseph, Kenyans should remain calm because after ordering the airplanes, there will be effective training and maintenance of staff and pilots when it comes to handling the Boeing 737-800 Max jets.

Interestingly, Indonesia’s airline Garuda Indonesia was the first carrier to publicly announce the cancellation of its order of 49 Boeing 737 Max 8 jets estimated at Ksh 600 billion.

This comes after massive passenger distrust of the aircraft after the Ethiopian crash.

Nevertheless, KQ Ceo assured Kenyans that Boeing will most likely have solved the current problem involving the aircraft.

As a matter of fact, the US aviation giant has been in a race against time to rectify an automated software problem that was causing the plane to descend, leaving the pilot in a fight to bring the plane back to ascension.

Unfortunately, the problem has resulted in 189 deaths in the Lion Air Crash and 157 deaths in the Ethiopian Airline Crash.
