Fine given to guilty as charged Nairobi county corrupt officials

The office of the Director of Public Prosecutions has revealed that 2 employees of Nairobi City County Government charged with corruptly soliciting bribe of sh 165,000,receiving bribe of sh 80,000 & conspiracy to commit an offence have been found guilty.

They have each been fined a total of h 210,000 or serve 24 months in jail.

Unimpressed Kenyans have claimed the sentence is too lenient making it a joke in the war against corruption.

Very lenient sentence. These guys are millionaires. They pay the ridiculous fine and get away with having stolen millions in other cases.

The anti-graft axe will spare no one, including my closest political allies, President Uhuru Kenyatta vowed on Friday.

The head of state warned the corrupt, saying he is ready to fight his “closest political ally, brother or sister” if they steal from Kenyans.

Uhuru, in a no-holds-barred address to Kenyans in Windhoek, Namibia, promised an unrelenting crackdown on the corrupt.
