Ruto’s Close Friend Millicent Omanga Facing Imminent Arrest Over Another Multi-Billion Theft

Jubilee nominated Senator Millie Omanga fights sleepless nights over imminent arrest after she was adversely implicated in the foiled sh 4.8 billion gun supplies at the prisons department.

Investigations are on the final stage of unearthing a plot in which the senator and a host of other individuals almost staged a deadly heist that could have robbed the country billions of shillings hot on the heels of the infamous dam scandal.

The Ethics and Anti-Corruption (EACC) made a swift move that protected Kenya from another mega scandal just when the cash was to be release an upfront for the supply of security items in a flawed tendering process.

Kenya prisons department which is under the Interior Ministry headed by CS Fred Matian’gi had issued an authorized tender with no bank or tender performance security guarantee.


EACC boss Twalib Mbarak said the scandal was detected and stopped at the final stages of transaction when the cash was about to be transferred from the ministry accounts to the supplying firms account.

Omanga is the founder and managing director of Milways Enterprises which deals in construction, import of furniture and electrical appliances and interior decore and was to supply G3 slings valued at sh 200 million.

However Milways Enterprises participation in the tender raised suspicions when all guns came with slings attached to them compounded with the fact that slings prices were exaggerated from sh. 200 to sh 5,000 apiece.

Mbarak said the contracts were awarded unprocedurally, flouting rules by committing payment of 80 percent upfront within 30 days before supply of items.

Among those under investigations alongside Senator Omanga are Post-Training and skills development Secretary Alfred Cheruiyot and former Sports Principal Secretary Richard Ekai.

The two will answer charges of being responsible for an attempt to release Sh3.6 billion for payment before the delivery of the weapons.

Investigations further revealed that the Milways Enterprises entered the transaction without valid Pin and Tax compliance certificate and forged Local Purchase Orders.

Sources close to the politician said the Senator has of late devoted most of her time pondering consequences legal consequences ahead given the kind given the ruthless manner President Uhuru administration is currently handling the matter.

The president last week made a strongest anti-graft statement saying he’s out to tackle it without fear or favour and labeled those engage in it enemies of the state.

The controversial Senator is a close associate of Deputy President William Ruto.

Her life took a drastic change when in 2013, the Deputy President bumped onto her and appointed her a director of the Kenya Electricty Generating Compnay (KenGen) at a time she was trying to make ends meet in Nairobi by selling bed sheets.
