A fire has been reported at IMAX Cinema Hall in Nairobi on Monday. The incident took place early afternoon – at around 2pm . Eight fire tenders were sent to the spot to help douse the fire.
The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, but some social media users suspect that the fire took place because of a short circuit.

The staff present inside immediately evacuated out of the building. Visuals of the spot put out by online users showed the top few floors of the building were on fire and large plumes of smoke billowing from the roof.

The cinema is located in Nairobi mama ngina street and the fire reportedly has not spread to other buildings.
The theatre houses numerous screens and the building which its sits on has a shopping complex.
