Liverpool Joins Bayern in Inflicting More Pain to Chelsea Over Their Star

Liverpool is the latest club to add salt on Chelsea’s wound following their aggressive determination to sign Chelsea forward Callum Hudson-Odoi.

This news was first reported in Germany via BILD and then picked up by the Sun before going viral.

German champions Bayern Munich have already tried to sign the teenager but have seen their advances rebuffed and the chances are they will try again, however, Liverpool are now considered the front runners.

It is hardly a secret that Hudson-Odoi is not 100% content in West London, he has just 18 months left on his contract and was close to leaving last January.

He is said to be unlikely to sign an extension and this means that Chelsea may have to sell or risk losing the player on the cheap because they would get nowhere near his valuation despite being entitled to some compensation.

That said, they may well decide it is worth taking the loss and hanging on to the youngster for one more season due to the impending two-window transfer ban.

The problem for Chelsea is that they do not start him often enough and Hudson-Odoi has grown very frustrated at his lack of first-team opportunities, especially now that he has broken into the England team.

A lot will depend on what sort of fee Liverpool offer, if it is sizeable enough then Chelsea may well reluctantly allow the young forward to leave.

Liverpool and Bayern Munich are not the only clubs monitoring the situation, Borussia Dortmund are also rumoured to very keen.

Hudson-Odoi joined Chelsea in 2007 and made his under-18 debut in August 2016.
