A car ferrying bundles of bhang was on Sunday involved in an accident near Delamere farm in Naivasha.
The bhang is worth an estimated Ksh 15 million. The driver and an occupant were seriously injured after ramming into another car on the Nakuru-Nairobi highway.
Another injured occupant fled after traffic police discovered the haul.
Naivasha police commander Samuel Waweru said the driver was attempting to overtake a number of vehicles.
“It was obvious the motorist ferrying the contraband was speeding in an attempt to dodge police manning several roadblocks mounted along the busy highway,” he said
Waweru said the driver was taken to the Naivasha Hospital, where he was under police watch.
