Bias! KOT queries why minor offenders are always booked faster than grand corruption suspects by DCI

Kenyans are hopeful that the Directorate of Criminal Investigations, DCI will eradicate crimes witnessed in major city estates.

This is after detectives based in Mombasa Sunday arrested 5 suspects in connection with a robbery in Mombasa.

In a video that was obtained from a CCTV footage showing an unsuspecting woman at an M-Pesa shop being robbed at gunpoint by a gang of thugs in Makande area of the coastal town.

The DCI has identified the suspects as -Brighton Naiya Manyala, Mohamed Hassan, Chris Odhiambo Omondi, Evans Munyoki Mburiro andMutonyi Nzamba.

Two motorcycles-one used during the robbery-have also been confiscated. DCI through a statement seen by Daily Active stated that they are pursuing other suspects involved in other robberies.

This news got KOT expressing their joy in the manner DCI have succeeded in arresting the robbery suspects and bringing them to book

Here are some of the comments.

However, some KOT questioned the manner in which DCI dives into action in cases involving ‘minor’ offences while serious offences like corruption involving big fish usually drag for years before fizzling out.
