Why Pogba’s earning from 2018 dropped

Pogba has been overtaken as France’s highest-earning sportsman

Paul Pogba’s earning from 2018 dropped because of the uncertainty surrounding Brexit, according to reports in France.

Pogba used to be France’s highest earning sportsman, but has now been overtaken by Antoine Griezmann and Kylian Mbappe.

Mbappe and Griezmann earned big in 2018

According to L’Equipe, the midfielder still earns a weekly wage of £290,000 at Manchester United.

But his contract with adidas was given a huge boost after his World Cup winning summer in Russia – worth £34million over the next decade.

The France Football Association also gave the 26-year-old a £343,000 bonus for lifting the prestigious trophy.

However, the report claims Pogba’s yearly earnings have dropped due to the value of the sterling falling against the Euro due to the uncertainty surrounding Brexit.

Conversely, Griezmann’s earnings have increased as a result of Atletico Madrid offering the striker a new deal to Stave off reported interest from Barcelona.

The 28-year-old also has lucrative deals with Huawei, Head & Shoulders, Gillette and Puma, and like Pogba, he too received a £343,000 bonus from the FFF for winning the World Cup.

Although Mbappe is not the biggest earner at PSG (with Neymar holding that honour) the 20-year-old is now the second-best paid French sportsman
