In an interview with Citizen TV, Kabuth revealed that she had a bad feeling about the flight and that her stomach was not quite right and so she decided to dash off to a toilet nearby.

“Just before we got to the boarding gate, I had this funny feeling in my tummy and I though that it wouldn’t be proper for me to get on to the flight without really getting to understanding what was wrong with me,” she narrated.

While her instincts and actions saved her life, Kabuth however lost three of her friends who had laughed at her idea of her going to look for a toilet yet the plane had one she could use.

“So I told the three girlfriends to wait for me as I went to the restroom that was just adjacent to the boarding gate,” she said.

“You know they were all laughing at me and telling me, ‘Liz, this villager in you, why don’t you use the toilet in the plane?’ but I told them I needed some privacy and I needed a place I would feel comfortable,” she added.

Kabuth, a mother of four who works at Moi Referral Hospital, was speaking at the memorial service of one of her late friends, Jane Njeri.
