Police officers are investigating the circumstances that led the death of the airport officer who killed self by jumping from control tower at Moi international airport.
Authorities at the Kenya Civil Aviation Authority (KCAA) have confirmed that an officer who lost his life at Moi International Airport.
A statement sent to newsroom states that the aerodrome control officer II based at the facility is said to have jumped to death from the airport control tower and died on the spot.
KCAA said that they are sorry for the loss while they are offering guidance and counselling to his colleague due to shock they are experiencing.
“The family of the deceased was informed and our officers are working closely with the relevant authorities to investigate the incident,” KCAA said in a statement.
According to eye witnesses, the traffic controller who was on duty during the landing of the body of a doctor who committed suicide in Cuba, jumped from the tower, dying on the spot.
Those who witnessed stated that something must have contributed for the officer to commit suicide or whether there was a confrontation with colleagues.
