Sportpesa CEO Ronald Karauri Blasts The Jubilee Government

There is no doubt that Ronald Karauri is the most successful CEOs in Kenya in recent history.

He is the brains behind Sportpesa, the multi-billion betting firms that currently sponsors EPL side Everton and Championship team Hull City.

So Karauri has some insights about running a successful business empire. Let’s not forget that Karauri has more than 11 years experience as a pilot at Kenya Airways.

Unfortunately, Kenya Airways is now a pale shadow of its former self and risks going under. The airline has considered taking over the management of JKIA to boost its survival boost.

On Friday, Transport CS James Macharia announced that Kenya Airways had reached a deal to introduce direct flights between Kenya and Namibia.

This did not go down well with Karauri, who said it is one of the reasons why Kenya Airways is struggling.

According to the Sportpesa CEO, opening up new destinations should not be a matter of ties between countries but a business decision that should return profits.

Last year Kenya Airways launched daily direct flights to New York under a lot of fan fare. But the flights were reduced to 5 per week due to lack of passengers.
